K-pop group BTS canceled their tour in their home country, with multiple dates being called off. With over 200,000 attendees expected, they had no choice but to cancel to avoid putting so many at risk.

Disney’s Mulan live-action release

Disney‘s Mulan remake is being postponed for release in China after the closure of nearly 70,000 theaters. The story and cast were particularly chosen to cater to a Chinese audience with more historical accuracy and an all-Asian cast, while Disney president of production Sean Bailey says he’s “looking at it day by day.”

CinemaCon

Each spring, motion picture exhibitors, distributors and industry partners from around the world meet in Las Vegas to share information and celebrate the moviegoing experience. Following the news that Live Nation will be pausing tours, fellow concert promoter AEG will also halt tours in the U.S. and internationally. The two companies joined Creative Artists Agency (CAA), William Morris Endeavor (WME), Paradigm, and United Talent Agency (UTA) in addressing the current decision, according to Rolling Stone.
“The world’s leading forces in live entertainment have come together to form a global task force to drive strategic support and unified direction ensuring precautionary efforts and ongoing protocol are in the best interest of artists, fans, staff, and the global community,” the joint statement reads. “At this time, we collectively recommend large scale events through the end of March be postponed. We continue to support that small-scale events follow guidance set by their local government officials.
