Mark Hoppus recently opened up to the world during this coronavirus quarantine. He hopped on Twitch and live-streamed himself playing Animal Crossing. Hoppus also played some acoustic blink-182 and +44 songs.

Joined by his son Jack, Mark Hoppus also revealed which blink-182 song they’ll never play live. Sadly, it’s a bit of a fan favorite.

When he’s not debating with Tom DeLonge about which of them is more like Joe Exotic, or adding a splash of realism and humor to a viral video, Mark Hoppus is playing Animal Crossing.

Well, the co-vocalist/bassist of one of the greatest bands of all time decided to pull back the curtain and answer some questions and play some tidbits of a few songs on Twitch recently.

While playing the game and playing some songs, one fan asked Hoppus if blink-182 would ever play “Kaleidoscope” live. “Kaleidoscope” is a hit song off blink-182’s 2011 album Neighborhoods. Unfortunately, Hoppus’ point was short and not so sweet.

Jack Hoppus read the question “Is there a chance that ‘Kaleidoscope’ will ever be played live?”

“No,” Hoppus answered quickly. “We’re never playing ‘Kaleidoscope’ live. That’s not happening. I love that song though.”

You can watch the clip through the Reddit post below.

I asked Mark if Kaleidoscope will ever be played live. He said no from Blink182

Even though that is some sad news, Hoppus cheered us up by breaking out the acoustic guitar and playing some blink-182 and +44 deep cuts.

One dedicated fan went through all the word of sifting through the hours and hours of the stream and cut all of the music together in a convenient 15-minute video.

In in, Hoppus plays hits like “Online Songs,” “Pathetic,” “Heart’s All Gone” and “Baby Come On.” Check out the supercut of songs below.

During the stream, Hoppus also said that he would love to do a livestream concert for charity. So be on the lookout for that very soon.

More blink-182

The world is enamoured right now with the Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness spurring an onslaught of memes online and now members of blink-182 are jokingly bickering over which one would get to be the series’ star Joe Exotic.

Former frontman Tom DeLonge posted a hilarious meme captioned “I Miss The Old blink-182” where he says “I’m Joe” and Mark Hoppus is jumping into the comments to try to earn his right to be Joe Exotic.

For some context in case you haven’t seen the show, Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage is an incarcerated former zoo operator and self-professed most prolific tiger breeder in the U.S.

He ran an exotic animal park in Oklahoma and twice unsuccessfully ran for public office in 2016 and 2018. The documentary series focuses on the feud between Joe and animal rights activist Carole Baskin. It also involves a lot of issues relating to a murder for hire plot as well as the disappearance of Baskin’s husband who went missing in 1997.

Now, the internet has been captivated with the wild stories involved in the new Netflix series.

Tom DeLonge joined in with a meme showing Joe Exotic and his friends just hanging out with their shirts off. DeLonge claims in his post that he would be Joe but Hoppus made his way into the comments saying “The Hell you’re Joe. I’m Joe.”

Tom gave a great reply saying “either way, you and I end up deeply in love and raising cats.”

You can see the post below.

DeLonge later superimposed his face onto Exotic’s and had a message for Hoppus.

Someone tell @markhoppus that I believe I make a great Joe
